The Beginning of ALPS
Somewhere between 10pm workouts and 12-hour workdays, I lost the rhythm I used to have with food.
Since a young age I have been intentional about the quality of food i consume and how I ate. Cooking meals from scratch in elementary, upgrading to tracking nutrients in high school to college, and staying in tune with how I felt. But after stepping into the fast-paced world of finance, everything got harder. I was constantly on the move, running on caffeine, and eating whatever I could grab between meetings.
By late afternoon, I’d hit a wall. Every day. Foggy, unfocused, and too tired to do much else. Let alone make it to the gym, give my golden Belle the play time she deserved or feel good about pretty much anything. I was running on empty.
That’s when I started looking for something better. Something real.
I didn’t want another bar. I didn’t want a meal replacement shake. I just wanted something clean — with real ingredients I could trust, protein that actually mattered, and flavor that didn’t feel like a chore.
So I made it.
I started blending ingredients I already knew worked: yogurt, egg whites, fruit, a little honey. And then an opportunity came to use an industrial precision dryer, that was The Moment. This allowed me to make real food shelf stable without any nasty ingredients. Bite sized cubes I could keep in my bag and eat throughout the day. No fridge, no prep, no junk.
That’s how ALPS was born. Not out of a big idea but out of a real need.
The name comes from the mountains I drive past every evening leaving the office here in Colorado. They’re a reminder to stay grounded, but always aim higher. That’s what this brand means to me.
ALPS is for anyone trying to do their best — in work, in training, in life — and wants food that helps them feel like themselves again.
If that’s you, I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Bennett
